MEET DAVID SEDARIS (RADIO 4, 6.30PM) has the American humorist giving another perfectly pitched reading of his comic essays. This evening’s piece of comedy gold is called A Number Of Reasons Why I Have Been Depressed Lately. The sheer gullibility of people, especially when it comes to conspiracy theories, is a source of both mystery and misery to David, who shares some alarmingly mad ideas put forward with deadly seriousness by unhinged punters in this half-hour of wit and wisdom.
RAE MORRIS, the Lancashire-born singersongwriter, got her big break on the BBC Introducing stage at the Reading and Leeds Festivals and released her debut album, Unguarded, in 2015. Rae
(pictured) will be in the studio this evening with JO WHILEY (RADIO 2, 8PM) for a live session, including a performance of her new single, Reborn.
BRIAN COX and Robin Ince continue with their mission to mix science and comedy. For this week’s edition of THE INFINITE MONKEY CAGE (RADIO 4, 11PM), they ask the unsettling question: Are we living in a simulation? Helping them to try to answer that are comedian Phill Jupitus, philosopher Professor Nick Bostrom and neuroscientist Professor Anil Seth.
