Now The Donald sets up his own ‘real news’ show

- Mail Foreign Service

THE US President has launched his own ‘real news’ show to counter what he sees as ‘fake’ negative coverage.

The Facebook videos are presented by the Donald Trump’s daughter-inlaw, Lara, and lists his weekly achievements in the White House.

Mr Trump has railed repeatedly against so-called ‘fake news media’, defending his controversial use of Twitter and other platforms as the ‘only way for me to get the truth out’.

He urged supporters to watch the Facebook videos, writing: ‘Want to know what President Trump did this week? Watch here for REAL news!’

Mrs Trump, who is married to the President’s second son Eric, began the first broadcast saying: ‘I bet you haven’t heard about all the accomplishments the President had this week because there’s so much fake news out there.’ She mentioned how the billionaire has donated his presidential salary for the next three months – approximately £75,000 – to the US department of education. ‘This is a President who is putting America before himself,’ Mrs Trump added.

She then boasted that unemployment is at its lowest since 2001, but failed to mention that it has been falling every month for the past six years.

There was no mention of the recent turmoil in the White House.

The first video pulled in two million views, more than most prime-time shows on US cable news networks. Mrs Trump said she will be back every week to provide ‘nothing but the facts’.
