Beware of ID cards
READERS calling for identity cards to be imposed (Letters) offer good arguments. However, they should remember that the biometric identity card was a project of Tony Blair, supported by David Blunkett.
It would have been a gateway system, backed up by an intrusive database.
If you did not comply, you could even be denied access to your own money. The people who want identity cards have to decide what they would do to those of us who object to them.
