KROENKE AXES BLOOD SPORTS AFTER OUTCRY

- By MATTHEW SMITH

ARSENAL owner Stan Kroenke has ordered his controversial TV channel to remove all programmes relating to blood sport. Kroenke was on the end of public criticism this week after the UK launch of MyOutdoorTV (MOTV), which featured programmes about hunting big-game animals. MOTV launched in Britain last weekend and was described as ‘the Netflix of the hunting world’. Among the programmes on the channel were shows where big-game animals, including elephants and lions, were hunted and killed. Some were left to bleed to death while being stalked. After a fierce backlash the channel announced yesterday that it was removing all blood-sport content, at the request of Kroenke. A statement from the TV channel’s owners said: ‘In the past few days there has been significant public attention to content associated with hunting certain big game animals. ‘Stan Kroenke has directed us to remove all content related to those animals.’
