City hope to keep Sancho
MANCHESTER CITY hope to resolve a conflict with Jadon Sancho despite the teenager refusing to train. The 17-year-old has not been seen at City’s academy for over a week as he attempts to force a move after snubbing a professional deal. And Pep Guardiola did not pick the winger for last month’s US tour due to the contractual impasse. The England youth international, player of the tournament at this summer’s Under 17 European Championship, missed training while the first team were abroad and his future appears to lie away from the Etihad Stadium. Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United have shown intersest. Club sources have stressed the situation is salvageable, as talks with Sancho’s agent continue. Any English club would need to strike up a compensation deal with City, while Sancho could cost foreign clubs as little as £190,000. Yesterday, City continued their pre-season with a 3-0 win over West Ham in Iceland. Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring, before Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling completed the rout.
