LURED, DRUGGED AND BOUND: HER SIX DAYS OF HELL
July 10 Chloe Ayling flies in to Milan – posting online that she has ‘arrived’ alongside a semi-naked picture from her hotel bathroom.
July 11 The mother of one is drugged and stripped after arriving at a fake photographic studio near Milan central station – where police later found items of her clothing.
July 11 In a scene recreated by police, Miss Ayling regained consciousness in a suitcase in the boot of a car. Her captors had dressed her in a pink bodysuit and handcuffed her wrists and ankles.
July 11 While being driven to a remote farmhouse in a hamlet 120 miles from Milan, Miss Ayling’s screams forced the gang to stop the blue hatchback, right, three times.
July 11-17 Miss Ayling spent six days shackled to a wooden chest of drawers with handcuffs, left, in the rented house at Borgial, an isolated village near Turin, above. Suspect Lukasz Herba told the landlord he was a painter in search of inspiration and that he had found the right spot.
July 17 Herba was arrested after deciding to release the captive because she told him she was a mother, and driving her to the UK Consulate in Milan. It is unclear why he accompanied her.
July 18 Herba’s council flat in Tividale, West Midlands, is raided by police.
August 5 The case was kept secret until Saturday while Italian police worked to identify up to three accomplices. Officers held a press conference after Miss Ayling took them back to both crime scenes.
Yesterday Miss Ayling arrives back at home in Coulsdon, South London, where she describes her terrifying experience.
