Cruel illness
MY HUSBAND still knows who I am, but not what day it is or what I said to him a few minutes ago.
Like Laurie Graham’s husband, the manm I married 40 years ago is slowly disappearing. We have been robbed of our retirement, and I feel like a skivvy. I never have any time off, and the circle of friends and activities we can enjoy is shrinking.
The only time I’m guaranteed a full night’s sleep is when my husband stays in hospital. I love him dearly but I am so tired.
I don’t know what the future holds, but my husband and I will just carry on the best we can. Name supplied, Wigan, Gtr. Manchester.
