It’s love that endures
I HAVE every sympathy with Laurie Graham, who describes herself as an Alzheimer’sA widow (Femail).
My husband has been in a lovely care home for nearly two years and probablyp had dementia long before wew both realised. Like Laurie, I did all I could to care for him before specialists had to take over.
My advice to Laurie is when you visit,v greet your husband with a hug and kiss and tell him you love him. WhenW you leave, tell him you have to go shopping and will see him soon.
My husband no longer knows my namen or those of his daughters or grandchildren. His nine-year- old granddaughter said: ‘ Grandad doesn’t remember me any more, but I know he loves me.’ BETSAN DANIELS, Weybridge, Surrey.
