Duke’s visit

IT IS not correct to state that The Duke of York ‘ shamelessly left after six minutes’ (Sports Agenda) at the London stadium on the IAAF World Championships opening night.

Before reading a message from the Queen at the opening ceremony, the Duke attended a reception at the London Stadium where he met officials from a number of nations taking part in the World Championships and British athletes who had been presented with medals, as well as thanking Games volunteers.
