WEStON tURVILLE’S Pauline Waite and Jean Garrett are tantalisingly close to reaching the finals of the Daily Mail Foursomes at their first attempt after a dramatic last-hole, last-putt triumph over Magnolia Park. Garrett rolled in a pressure putt for a bogey on the 18th green for the home pair to beat Jenny Wynd and Anne terry one up. they are now just one game from a spot in the October finale at Marriott St Pierre in Chepstow. Waite said: ‘We can’t believe it. We’ve had couples enter from the club before but the furthest they’ve gone is the fourth round. We’re celebrities now.’
