World’s most brazen couple

As Sir Shifty’s Little Miss Shameless cavorts with her married jailbird lover, can the Green family name sink any lower?

- by JAN MOIR

On THE latest leg of their perma-holiday, Chloe Green and her jailbird boyfriend Jeremy Meeks attended a festival in Barbados.

The couple, still in the passionate throes of a grisly summer romance, got into the spirit of the event by dressing up in fiesta costumes while snogging lasciviously at every opportunity.

And millions of us, perhaps still digesting our breakfast or feeling a little tender about life, really wish they had not.

For it is not just their glutinous, half-naked displays of public affection that are so revolting, although they don’t help matters. nor is it the indigestible knowledge that Meeks abandoned a wife and child to be with Miss Green, who is now known as the homewrecker heiress.

It is more that together they present a united front of such boorish revelry and rampant, empty-minded hedonism that they even put Big Daddy Sir Philip Green to shame.

For just when you think that the Green family name could not be dragged further into the gutter, here comes Chloe; a young woman with a real talent for eyeball-scorching vulgarity.

At 26, with access to unlimited funds and opportunities galore, she is a person of privilege and wealth who could, if only she were different, do a lot of good.

SHE chooses instead to fritter away her time in jetset fleshpots, with a convicted criminal at her side and nothing more weighty on her mind than where, oh where, to holiday next.

Her father Sir Philip is said to be ‘in denial’ about his beloved daughter’s affair with the tattooed, shaven-headed former gang member from America who has been in jail several times and has a history of violence and thieving.

Meeks became an unlikely internet sensation two years ago when police posted his arrest photos online. When he came out of prison, he got himself an agent and a new career as a male model.

Friends have been gruffly informed by Green that his daughter’s relationship with the man now known as the ‘hot felon’ is just a ‘ holiday romance’. Yet that is hardly a comforting thought, given that Chloe has been on holiday for the past four years at least.

The parameters of her shallow life extend from teak deck to discothèque, with nothing much in between except a parade of cocktails, lunches and designer frocks.

So what? She wouldn’t be the first poor little rich girl to fill her life with expensive fripperies and unsuitable men, after all.

But, one might hope, given the recent Bhs pensions scandal that engulfed Sir Philip, that he might have a word with her about toning down the partying and the ostentatious high living.

He might tell her to dial it down, do a bit of charity work, darling, maybe show a little respect and decorum for the people he had wronged? But, no, that hope would be in vain. Look at Chloe in Barbados, if you dare. She is wearing a rhinestone bra which struggles to encage each breast, like trying to cram a trifle into a tiara.

Her reinforced bikini bottoms are garlanded with baubles, while the final accessory to this terrible fashion crime are her too-tight, bejewelled booties on her feet. They appear to be blocking her lower leg circulation, giving rise to a condition quite possibly known as thrombo-cankle.

Meanwhile, lovely Jeremy (such a nice boy) has his full panoply of gangland tattoos on show under some kind of sequined baby harness.

A pair of shorts, some expensive new trainers and a glass of rum in his fist complete his carnival look.

At one point, moved by the music, he even agrees to carry Chloe on his shoulders in time-honoured festival tradition, only to sink to the ground after a few painful steps, knees shot, sinews screaming.

Whatever it was that first attracted him to billionaire’s daughter Chloe Green, it wasn’t her faint resemblance to a puff of swansdown.

Once he had recovered his strength, the couple got back to what they do best; drinking and dancing, slurping and slobbering, taking selfies and then drinking some more under the hot Caribbean sun.

To this end, Chloe recently posted a photograph of Meeks and herself on her Instagram account. Underneath it, she wrote: ‘Life is too short not to laugh and

smile, and that is all we do.’ Well, quite. Never mind that Meeks’s poor wife Melissa found out about his affair only after photographs were published of her husband and the perma-tanned Miss Green canoodling half-naked on a yacht together.

She told newspapers that she felt humiliated by his affair, and no wonder. The couple had been married for eight years and share one child, seven-year-old Jeremy Jnr.

Elsewhere, the images that chronicle Jeremy and Chloe’s torrid monthlong relationship show them doing the usual happy, rich couple things; relaxing by the pool, sunbathing on yachts, driving around in supercars and exiting nice restaurants.

She looks thrilled. He looks slightly feral, a cat on the prowl, a man who can’t quite believe his good luck.

Since leaving prison (his wife waiting for him while he was inside, what a fool) one of his most lucrative contracts is worth a cool £1 million to model clothes for the Topman range — facilitated by Chloe.

After all, it is Daddy’s company! Violent criminal turned pin-up? Why not? It seems incredible that someone with such a sickening past should be lauded by the idiotic fashion world.

But, as the Greens know better than most, there is no shame in public life any more. And bedazzled Chloe is going to do everything she can to make sure Meeks stays at her side.

Friends say Chloe Green is actually very sweet. At any gathering she is the first to put her credit card behind the bar or on the restaurant table.

She pays for everything — and everyone lets her. Miss Green even has a personal photographer on hand 24/7 to capture every one of the tacky, almost tragic magic moments she shares with her new love. She likes to think of herself as independent, and boasts that her motto in life is: ‘She Flies With Her Own Wings.’

It is laughable, really, and the only person she must fool is herself. She seems utterly oblivious to the fact that she only flies with a credit card, courtesy of Daddy, in her designer handbag, and it is he who bankrolls her lavish lifestyle. And now, it seems, Jeremy’s, too.

Imagine how galling this must be for Bhs pensioners, confronted with such vulgar bling and shameless peacockery from two such awful people.

Sir Philip must have been hoping for a relaxing summer on his 300ft yacht, Lionheart, this year. For it has certainly been a torrid 12 months in Green-land: pre-tax profits at his fashion empire fell nearly 80 per cent to £36.8 million, turnover fell 17 per cent — all this and his personal reputation flushed down the loo.

Earlier this year, Sir Philip agreed — finally — to pay £363 million into the pension scheme to make some kind of amends to retired Bhs workers.

Yet there was no compensation for the worry those pensioners endured. Now they have to suffer the ghastly spectacle of his pampered daughter gallivanting around the world, exulting in the controversy publicly garnered by her dodgy gangster lover.

She is bewitched and bothered, thrilled with her new bad-boy love. Some reports say she has a Jeremyinspired tattoo on her bikini line that reads: ‘Can’t stop, won’t stop’.

And, if this latest crass display is anything to go by, it seems she is determined to stay true to her word. Heaven help us all.

This vulgar show must be galling for Bhs workers
