SUNNY DAYS

We must drink more water and cut out the wine, To stay well-hydrated and relax the mind. We must move more slowly and try not to run, And drink more cool water to cope in the sun. We should wear a hat when we’re out in the air, And sit in the shade when it’s so hot out there. We should have a sprinkle of salt on our meal, And drink some more water so better we’ll feel. I hope that this poem will help in the main, Until we are blessed with our fine English rain. Linda Yvonne Kettle, Portsmouth, Hants.

Limerick

A legend you are, it is plain. And in all our thoughts you’ll remain. Although your swan-song, Just went slightly wrong, We’ll never forget you, Usain. Robert Ben-Nathan, Denham, Bucks.

NurseryRhyme ForOurTimes

If you should hear a rumbling sound, It is of viewers, grumbling. They can’t make out the dialogue, They’re fed up with the mumbling. Val de ree, val de rah, Val de ree, val de rah ha ha ha ha ha, Vel de ree, val de rah, They’re fed up with the mumbling. A. Phillips, Sidcup, Kent.
