Freed sex attacker raped two women

- Daily Mail Reporter

A CONVICTED rapist carried out sex attacks on two women – less than a month after being let out of prison on licence.

Ashley Shuck, 24, was released from prison on May 30 after serving part of his sentence for raping an 18-year-old woman.

But on June 18 he attacked one woman aged 77 and another aged 28. He has pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, two of sexual assault and one of kidnapping and has been sentenced to life in prison.

Both of his latest victims were attacked in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, the 28-year-old early in the morning at a friend’s home and the 77-year-old in her own home.

He forced the elderly woman to drive around the county for more than two hours after the attack.

When Shuck, of Worcester, appeared at the city’s crown court on Monday he was also made the subject of a lifetime sexual harm prevention order. He will be placed on the sex offenders’ register for the rest of his life. An investigation is now being conducted into how he was being managed after being released in May.

Detective Chief Inspector Mel Paley of West Mercia police said: ‘Our thoughts are with the women who have been the victims of sexual assault at the hands of Shuck.

‘Specialist liaison officers have been supporting them throughout and will continue to be available for as long as they are needed.’

Assistant Chief Constable Richard Moore, chairman of the strategic management board for West Mercia, said: ‘Following his release from prison in May 2017, Ashley Shuck was managed through multi-agency public protection arrangements.

‘The strategic management board for West Mercia has now commissioned a mandatory multi-agency serious case review to examine the offender management of Shuck.

‘It is essential that we examine all the circumstances and address any issues arising.’
