No care home for Joan . . .
SHE plays a resident in her latest film The Time Of Their Lives, but evergreen Dame Joan Collins, 84, declares she will never end up in a care home herself and criticises them as places with no vitality.
Her character, washed-up actress Helen Shelley, is shown living in a nursing home, but Joan says: ‘I don’t think it’s likely I’ll find myself in a home. I have children, grandchildren, a wonderful husband . . .’
She adds: ‘I went to two care homes [to prepare for the film], to see how they were, these old people. Some seemed somnambulistic. The people just sat there.’
Hate to say it, Joan, but many of ‘these old people’ are probably younger than you.
