Inglorious Goodwood

GOODWOOD wasn’t glorious for me. It was nearly impossible to get to see the runners in the paddock because of the numbers of tables and drinkers we had to push through.

The grandstand was so crowded that one of my party had to keep our seats while the others went to place bets. We couldn’t see the big screen and there was so much noise as the horses passed the post, which we also couldn’t see, that we couldn’t hear who had won.

Most of the crowd seemed more interested in drinking than in seeing the racing.

Yes, Goodwood is a beautiful course, but Cheltenham is far better for racegoers. Mrs Di NiCHOLSON, richmond, Surrey.
