Bring EU to account

A DIVORCE settlement is based on the full disclosure of assets. Given the way in which the auditors have persistently refused to validate the EU’s accounts, the Brexit divorce might be a little difficult.

Perhaps the British Government needs to assemble a team of crack accountants and police officers to sift through the EU’s books.

Or maybe the EU will forgo the whole procedure and simply decide to consciously uncouple from us — a rather less expensive, if far more irritating, procedure.
