5G legal challenge
MOBILE operator Three has warned the telecoms regulator it is on the verge of mounting a High Court challenge against an auction of UK airwaves.
It claims rules set out for the sale fail to ensure a fair distribution of spectrum that can be used for 4G and 5G services. Three wants a cap of 30pc on the amount of mobile spectrum an operator can own, which would mean BT- owned EE, which has about 42pc, could not bid for more 4G or 5G airwaves.
Three boss Dave Dyson said that a judicial review of the rules could be completed in three months.
