PULLS out of the 200m heats after feeling sick. Public Health England say 30 athletes staying at the Tower Hotel near London’s Tower Bridge are believed to have the norovirus.

TUE 3pm

WITHDRAWS from the 400m final, after vomiting, on the instructio­n of the IAAF medical delegate. Despite this he claims he has not been properly tested and is ‘ready to run’.

THE IAAF now allow Makwala to run his 200m heat, as he has completed his quarantine period. At 6.42pm he runs alone in lane seven and qualifies for the semis in a time of 20.20sec.
