Divorce is off! Brad and Angelina ‘ halt split after he gives up boozing to win her back’
aNGeLiNa Jolie and Brad Pitt have reportedly called off their divorce after he ‘got sober to try to win her back’.
Miss Jolie filed for divorce last September after he allegedly attacked his son Maddox, 15, on a private jet.
Pitt has always fiercely denied these claims but admitted in May, in an interview with GQ magazine, that he had a drink problem.
He also spoke about child custody issues and said he was working with Miss Jolie as ‘no one wins in court’.
But after months of inactivity sources say the couple have put their separation on hold after Pitt, 53, stopped drinking.
an insider told US Weekly: ‘ the divorce is off. they haven’t done anything to move it forward in several months and no one thinks they are ever going to. He’s got sober to try and win her back.
‘He knew he had a problem that he had to take care of. and that’s all she ever wanted.’
Miss Jolie and Pitt have been together for a decade and married for two years. they met on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith 13 years ago. He was still married to Friends star Jennifer aniston.
the couple have six children Maddox, 16, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and nine-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Maddox was adopted from Cambodia, Zahara from ethiopia, and Pax from Vietnam. Miss Jolie is birth mother to Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.
Despite moving into a Los angeles mansion in June, without her estranged husband, Miss Jolie is still said to be ‘in love’ with the Hollywood star.
She recently said she is thankful the pair can remain civil for the children’s sake and insisted their home life wasn’t ‘negative’ at all.
She told Vanity Fair: ‘[Our lifestyle] was not in any way a negative. that is and will remain one of the wonderful opportunities we were able to give our children.’
the 42-year-old actress also said of their separation: ‘it’s just been the hardest time and we’re just kind of coming up for air.’
in May, Pitt admitted his drinking became a problem but said he has now quit alcohol. He told GQ: ‘i can’t remember a day since i got out of college when i wasn’t boozing or had a spliff or something ... i’m really, really happy to be done with all of that.’
