Robot driver sales

BRITISH engineer AB Dynamics has received its largest ever order for driving robots, which are used by car companies to increase the accuracy of safety tests on their vehicles.

The robots – which also carry out tests more quickly than any human driver by eliminating human error – can test anything ranging from the effectiveness of a vehicle’s brakes on a bend to the effects of longterm misuse.

The order has been received from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, which will use the robots to test cars on its tracks.
