The secret of my youthful glow? Aloe vera from my own back garden, says Jennifer
AS a woman who lives in a Californian mansion, stopping the sun from ageing her skin can be tricky.
But Jennifer Aniston has revealed the secret behind maintaining a youthful appearance even in such climates – and it’s found in her back garden.
The actress said she counteracts the damage of sunbathing by applying aloe vera straight from the plant to her skin.
Asked what her vice is, the actress replied: ‘Sunbathing is a toughie for me. I struggle with it, because I love it so much, but I’ve been trying to be better.
‘To counteract the damage it does, I first try to do less of it, and then make sure to highly moisturize after. I also throw in some aloe vera from our garden when I can.’
She added: ‘It’s so good for skin to use not just the stuff from the store, but the real aloe from the plant.’
The plant is renowned for having cooling and healing properties, and is often used to treat sunburned skin.
As well as the aloe, Miss Aniston, 48, grows kale, tomatoes, peppers, kiwis, plums, grapefruit and courgettes in her garden, creating an oasis for healthy eating and

skincare. And it turns out that the Friends star isn’t the only one in her house concerned about their appearance. Her husband, actor and screenwriter Justin Theroux, 46, often steals her beauty products, and ‘manscapes’ – or grooms his body hair.
She told US online magazine Refinery 29: ‘He steals my shampoo, my hair paste... whatever product I put on my face, he just does the same for him. You know, he likes to dabble. He kind of manscapes, which I actually enjoy. I enjoy a nicely manscaped partner.’
The actress also labels the products in her medicine cabinet, which she calls her ‘mini pharmacy’, and all her food.
She said: ‘I like to label things. I’m really weird about how long something’s been in there. I date my food. I want to know when something might potentially poison me.’
Miss Aniston lives with Theroux in a £15million mansion in Bel Air, which boasts a pool and a vineyard.
