HAMMERS OFFER ‘KEY MAN’ LANZINI £70k PER WEEK

-

WEST HAM are ready to offer midfielder Manuel Lanzini a new contract that will double his money to £70,000 a week to ward off interest from Liverpool. Hammers fear Lanzini (below), the 24-year-old Argentine, will be an Anfield target if they fail to keep Philippe Coutinho. Manager Slaven Bilic said: ‘He knows we are looking after him. ‘I know the chairman activated his clause (to make his loan deal permanent), even before he had to. He already showed him how much we respect him. He deserves for us to do it again. He is our key player and we will look after him.’ Meanwhile Bilic, whose side face Manchester United tomorrow, insists he’s not worried his own contract has only a year to run. He said: ‘That’s long enough. I am a long time in football. Your contract is about the last five games and the next five.’
