Giroud grabs Arsenal win in epic Premier League opener
OLIVIER GIROUD rescued Arsenal’s start to the season with a dramatic late winner to make manager Arsene Wenger grateful the French striker has chosen to stay.
Wenger revealed he had given Giroud the chance to leave after bringing in £52million striker Alexandre lacazette as the club’s record signing.
lacazette put Arsenal ahead after just 94 seconds but leicester came back to lead 3-2 thanks to two Jamie vardy goals and another by Shinji Okazaki before Aaron ramsey’s equaliser set up the victory.
