MANY forty-something mothers would prefer not to fight their way into a wetsuit in full view of a public beach.
But Samantha Cameron, 46, looked trim, toned and confident as she prepared to hit the waves with a bodyboard in Cornwall.
Sadly for husband David, the less lean look that he has displayed since leaving Downing Street was highlighted in all its paunchy glory.
Mr Cameron, 50, was seen helping his wife into her wetsuit before she plunged into the surf at Polzeath during the family’s annual summer break in Cornwall last week.
The former PM also appeared to offer her some bodyboarding tips while the couple chatted on the beach. Mr Cam-
eron was often pictured working out with celebrity trainer Matt Roberts while he was in office, but appears to have let his training regime slip.
He was pictured drinking and smoking at a music festival this month, and friends have suggested he has found it difficult to adjust to life after Downing Street.
Meanwhile, Mrs Cameron has launched her own clothing label and opened up the couple’s Oxfordshire home for a shoot in Harper’s Bazaar magazine, modelling one of her own creations.
The Camerons have holidayed in Cornwall every summer since they entered No 10 in 2010, when their youngest child Florence was born at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro during their break.
