Go anywhere with a hoist

-

MOBILITY scooters and power chairs have helped thousands get out and about in their community. But limited battery life and the challenge of loading them into a vehicle means venturing further afield can be a different matter. However, a scooter can be taken almost anywhere if you have a hoist fitted in your car, whether you drive a hatchback, estate, MPV or 4x4. As long as the opening into the boot is large enough to take your scooter or powerchair, a hoist should fit perfectly inside, folding back neatly or detaching to leave plenty of room when not in use. There are vehicle-specific installation kits for more than 300 models of car. So the hoist will transfer easily to your next vehicle. Having a hoist will save you the strain of lifting your scooter into the boot, and from the risk of back injury. Hoists are available that lift up to 200kg, using a simple four-button control, so even larger scooters can be lifted without having to be taken apart, provided they will fit in the boot. Being able to take your scooter around by car is a great way to maintain your independence and make the most of opportunities to get out and about. Enjoy a trip to the sea or a stroll among the autumn leaves, without the worry and strain of lifting.
