Why Lefties are the most sexist ... by a Labour MP!

- By Claire Ellicott Political Correspondent

LEFT-WING men are the ‘absolute worst’ when it comes to sexism and do not support the fight for gender equality, a female Labour MP has said.

Jess Phillips said the ‘well-meaning Left-leaning’ men were worse than the ‘out and out sexists of the Right’.

The MP for Birmingham Yardley, pictured, has previously criticised Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour party for ‘low-level misogyny’.

Speaking at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, she claimed a male Left-wing journalist from The Guardian had once ‘lectured’ her that Mr Corbyn had helped women.

The journalist – who she did not name – told her that former Labour deputy leader Harriet Harman ‘was not that great for women’.

She said he also told her that Mr Corbyn had ‘always voted the right way’ – despite Mrs Phillips having voiced concerns about the lack of women appointed to the Shadow Cabinet.

Summing up the encounter, Mrs Phillips said sarcastically: ‘So yeah, Jeremy Corbyn better for women than Harriet Harman, obviously.’

She added that while Left-wing men say they want equality for all women, ‘they don’t think of you on the same level’. ‘When they close their eyes at night and think of amazing people who have changed the world, it’s always some white dude that pops into their head,’ she said.

The MP was asked whether the ‘out and out sexists of the Right’ were worse than the ‘well-meaning’ of the Left.

She replied: ‘They [the Left-wing men] are the worst, the actual worst.’

Mrs Phillips has previously warned that on the hard-Left of British politics ‘lurks a gruesome misogyny’.

Writing in The Guardian, she said: ‘I believe the Labour leadership team do want to fight for equality for women but they think it is a happy by-product of the cause, something that will trickle down without actually being campaigned for.’

LEFT-WING men are ‘the absolute worst’ when it comes to sexism. No, this is not the verdict of some Right-wing think-tank or strident Tory critic – it’s the considered opinion of Birmingham Labour MP Jess Phillips. And how right she is.

From the disgusting trolling and intimidation of women MPs (even those on their own side) to the paucity of females at the top of the party, the Corbynistas demonstrate a pattern of sexism that borders on misogyny.

Add this to the ugly seam of anti-semitism running through the Labour movement and vicious hostility towards anyone who dares disagree with the leadership and you quickly see which is the real nasty party. THE two new childcare benefits introduced this year were intended to bring about a revolution in getting parents back into work. But because of a meltdown in the HMRC computer system, the whole scheme is descending into chaos. Why does Whitehall seem so utterly incapable of creating an IT system that actually works?
