Bellway chief’s medical leave
BELLWAY’S boss is taking time off for medical treatment.
Ted Ayres, 54, ‘is taking a leave of absence from the company in order to undergo treatment for a medical condition’, the housebuilder said.
While Ayres is off, Bellway chairman and former chief executive John Watson will be executive chairman. The builder also said the boss of its southern division, Jason Honeyman, will become chief operating officer on September 1.
Ayres was paid £2.7m last year as Bellway built and sold 8,721 new homes, and made profits of £497.9m, up 40.6pc on the previous year.
