Clubs eyeing a double triumph

DUDDINGSTON and Honiton are within touching distance of sending both their men’s and women’s pairs to the finals. Duddingston’s Michael Hymers and Ollie Hughes need one more win to reach finals day. The Edinburgh club has only nine playing female members but Karen Ferguson-Snedden and Dee Williams are also just a victory away. ‘Karen is the reason we’re here,’ said Williams. ‘She was magnificent.’ Meanwhile in Devon, Honiton workmates Darren Morgan and Daniel Handford are into the seventh round, as are Janet Hughes and Sue Ritchie.
