Boy George in new album deal

-

BOY George has been signed up by a major record label for the first time in 22 years and admits part of his resurgence is down to his sobriety.

The 56-year-old Culture Club singer, pictured, who was last signed in 1995, is now gearing up to release a new album with the BMG label, and has a Las Vegas residency kicking off.

Speaking to MailOnline, the former heroin addict said: ‘All that’s happening in my life is because I’m smiling, and I think that’s the best way to explain it.

‘I’ve worked really hard in the last three years and I’ve got amazing people around me. I’ve got a great manager who totally gets who I am and who I can be.’

Boy George said he had fought through his ‘troubles’ to come out the other side, and feels that his life is a reflection of the good place he’s in. ‘I’m just happy,’ he said. ‘From having a coffee in Starbucks to signing a record deal, it’s all great.’
