HERE’S a really filthy tale, involving Pippa Middleton’s favourite London spa. Grace Belgravia, where the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister prepared for her wedding, has failed dismally its latest hygiene inspection.

Receiving just one out of five in the ‘Scores on the Door’ official food hygiene ratings, the £5,500-ayear women-only club has been ordered to scrub up by Westminster council. Mouse droppings were discovered next to a fridge in the front service area and gluten-free bread was stored in the same space as bread containing gluten, risking cross contamination.

In best Basil Fawlty-mode, a spokesman tells me: ‘Our head chef was on holiday and [our response to] the inspection was led by a junior sous chef who was very nervous of the inspector.’
