HSBC supremo got £64k for cars and £63k for insurance

DESPITE earning £5.7million last year, HSBC chief executive Stuart Gulliver makes sure the bank takes care of his hefty expenses incurred travelling the world.

Mr Gulliver, who raked in bonuses of £9million and £10million in 2009 and 2010, has pocketed a total of £44million since then.

The former Plymouth grammar school boy has spoken fondly of Hong Kong, the money-making centre of HSBC’s operations where he spends much of his time.

His love for the territory may be bolstered by the fact he can stay in properties owned by the bank during his travels – which would otherwise have cost him £263,000.

HSBC paid £211,000 in tax associated with these stays – and also gave him £64,000 in
