Di’s visits to Harry ‘picks up Meghan from guard’s grave from the Heathrow runway’

-

DIANA made an annual ‘pilgrimage’ to the resting place of the policeman she loved, it was claimed yesterday.

Former royal bodyguard Barry Mannakee was sacked following rumours of a romance between him and the princess. He died three weeks later in a motorcycle accident in 1987.

Writing in The Sunday Times, Diana’s biographer Andrew Morton said: ‘Every year, usually in May, the princess, wearing an oversized headscarf, made a secret pilgrimage to the City of London crematorium in Redbridge where his [Mannakee’s] ashes are scattered.’

He said Diana was convinced that Mr Mannakee had been killed in an ‘establishment plot’.

PRINCE Harry has been collecting girlfriend Meghan Markle straight from the runway at Heathrow to avoid photographers, it was claimed yesterday.

He waits in an audi when she lands in London ready to whisk the Suits actress off as soon as she lands.

This means she bypasses the usual passport queues and does not have to wait for her baggage to arrive if she has a suitcase in the hold.

Harry, 32, is said to have organised the arrangements after the 36-year- old kept being photographed at Terminal 2 after arriving on air Canada flights from Toronto.

‘it’s been happening for a while,’ a source told the Sunday Express. ‘Harry has a police escort on the tar- mac in his audi. He is accompanied by a bodyguard, with a people carrier following behind.

‘Meghan usually only carries hand luggage. if she does check a suitcase into the hold it is put on last so it can be located as quickly as possible.

‘all the necessary security checks must be carried out in advance or onboard because she walks straight from the plane steps to Harry’s car.’

a Heathrow spokesman said: ‘The aviation and protective security arrangements for members of the Royal Family, including their movements through the airport, are confidential and fully compliant with regulatory requirements.

‘it would be inappropriate to discuss those arrangements in public.’
