Bell’s toll on the Speaker’s love life . . .
JOHN Bercow’s love life could be in jeopardy if Big Ben’s bongs are kept silent.
The Commons Speaker’s wife, Sally, has previously admitted finding life in a taxpayer-funded flat beside the clock tower ‘incredibly sexy’.
A friend told The Sun: ‘Poor John may live to regret this controversial decision if it means it’s not just the bongs that are turned off.’
Mrs Bercow, 47, said in a 2011 interview: ‘The view from Speaker’s House is incredibly sexy, particularly at night with the moon and the glow from the old gas lamps.’
‘Hilariously I never realised how sexy I would find living under Big Ben with the bells chiming.’
