Get to grips with your phone

-

MODERN mobile phones, known as smartphones, are amazing things. More powerful than those old computer mainframes that filled entire buildings, they are so small they fit in your pocket. And, as well as texting and phoning, you can do everything on them from browsing the web to sending emails, taking photos or watching TV. But sometimes it’s not obvious how to do the things you want. You can ask a friend, of course. But if they have a slightly different model of phone they might not know how. Or if they’re a young technological whizz, you might find they know, but just do it for you, leaving you none the wiser! And if there’s a manual, it’s often just about how to get it started, so is of little help. That’s where a new book comes in, in two versions, explaining either iPhones or Androids, in easy steps. The book is proving hugely popular with all sorts of people who have a smartphone, but who aren’t experts. It explains everything nice and simply, in plain English. And it has lots of pictures showing exactly what to do. The company that produces it has already published books about computers and tablets that have helped thousands of people. It originally started when author Tim Wakeling wrote some notes to help his mum and dad with their PC and realised that other people might benefit. Several thousand happy people later, he decided to bring out a book on smartphones. Whether you’re frustrated with the basics, want to know what else your phone can do or wish you knew how to do some of the fancier things, this book might be just what you need. It’s worth finding out more by ordering a free information pack telling you about what’s covered and how to order the book.
