Britain take team gold

BRITAIN’S eventing team ended an eight-year wait for gold by winning the European title in in Strzegom, Poland, with three clear rounds in a tense showjumping phase yesterday. Britain finished the three-day event on 113.9, well ahead of defending champions Germany on 123. Nicola Wilson, 40, from Yorkshire, riding Bulana, also won individual bronze, as Germany’s Ingrid Klimke and Michael Jung took gold and silver. Tina Cook, in her eighth Europeans, was fourth, with Ros Canter fifth.
