United are a mix of power play and joy

- Jamie Redknapp

AFTER four long years, it looks as if we are finally seeing the Manchester United of old.

There has been very little joy at Old Trafford in recent times but at Swansea I saw a team who are loving playing alongside each other.

Jose Mourinho said he was happy to ‘let the horses run freely’ at Swansea. There will be times when he wants to keep them reined in but when he has such firepower in Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba he has to use it.

The last two goals were United at their counter-attacking best, fuelled by the brilliance Mourinho could call upon from his bench.

What an option he has in Anthony Martial to change a game. Full backs will have been run ragged by Rashford for 75 minutes and then have to face the explosive Martial for the final 15!

I can see Marouane Fellaini playing an equally important role. There will be tight games against United’s top- six rivals where the Belgian will be called upon to shore things up.

United must not get carried away — making a fast start is no guarantee of success.

But very few teams have the power, the presence and the strength in depth United possess. They can be a real force this season.
