SHREWD SHREWS ON THE UP
LEAGUE ONE THIS WEEKEND
HERO OF THE WEEK
Paul Hurst (Shrewsbury manager). A brilliant start to the campaign. Many tipped Shrewsbury for relegation this season. Hurst has recruited well and three wins out of three have the Shrews joint top of League One. An honest manager doing an honest job.
ZERO OF THE WEEK
Under Chris Wilder, Northampton fans were promised a lot and they received as much. This season, under Justin Edinburgh, things have been pretty dire. A 4-1 defeat away by Charlton chalked up their third straight league defeat.
GOAL OF THE WEEK
Jack Marriott (Peterborough 2-1 Rotherham). Stunning lob over goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell to seal the points for the Posh. His goals are adding up. Five in two league games now.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
Tony Mowbray, Blackburn manager, after beating Bradford 1-0 away: ‘We have come to a place where they haven’t lost in the league in 18 months, 30- odd games, and I said to the team before that was the challenge, let’s show the quality that Blackburn Rovers are going to have in League One this season and be the team that does it.’
STAT OF THE WEEK
Zero and riding high. Fleetwood have gone a little bit under the radar. You wonder why. Three straight wins and no goals conceded. Not top because of goals scored but Uwe Rosler has his boys solid at the back.
