MARKING 70 years since the partition of India, this fascinating d documentary follows British film director Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham, Vi Viceroy’s House) as she visits Delhi to explore one of the most dramatic events of the 20th century and its lasting impact on the lives of British Asian families, such as her own. To understand how and why partition happened, Gurinder (pictured right) talks to historians and people whose lives were torn apart by the dark days of 1947, unravelling a tangled web of political and social complexity.
