ON AN America West Airlines flight in the U.S. in 1990, I was flabbergasted by an ad in the inflight magazine for the Sheraton Hotel at Phoenix Airport. It said: ‘If you’re coming in for a landing at Phoenix, the best place to crash is the Airport Sheraton’!
