SHE won a Golden Globe for playing the Queen in one of TV’s most successful dramas.

But one crown Claire Foy hasn’t won is that of Britain’s highestearning TV actress, it seems.

The 33-year-old is paid ten times less per episode of The Crown – a British production for streaming service Netflix – than rival actresses get for starring in hit US fantasy series Game of Thrones, according to US magazine Variety.

Miss Foy is said to be on £31,000 an episode – while Emilia Clarke, 30, who plays princess Daenerys Targaryen, and co- star Lena Headey, 43, who plays Cersei Lannister, earn an estimated £391,000 an episode. The pair were the highest-ranking British actresses on a list of the top- earning TV drama stars compiled by Variety.

They will each earn a total of around £2.7million for the latest seven- episode series of Game of Thrones, which finishes on Sunday. Miss Foy, who won the Best Actress Golden Globe in January for her portrayal of a young Queen Elizabeth II, is set to earn £310,000 for the upcoming series of The Crown, which will run for ten episodes starting in December.

US star Robert De Niro, 74, tops the list with an estimated £606,000an-episode deal for his forthcoming role in David O Russell’s as-yet-untitled Amazon drama. In second place was American actor Mark Harmon, 65, who earns around £410,000 per episode of US police series NCIS.

Miss Clarke and Miss Headey were in joint third, along with some of their male Game Of Thrones stars including Kit Harington, 30.
