Band called Allah-Las is ‘targeted in terror plot’
A ROCK concert by a band called the Allah-Las was cancelled last night after police were warned of a terror threat.
Fans were evacuated from the venue in Rotterdam shortly before the American group were due to go on stage.
Last night the mayor of the Dutch port city said a van with Spanish number plates and ‘gas bottles’ were found nearby. The driver was arrested. It is understood Dutch officers were warned of the threat by Spanish police, who have been on high alert following the Barcelona terror attack last week. They then decided to cancel the event and evacuate the venue, a former grain silo called Maassilo that can hold 1,000 people. The Allah-Las, a four-piece band from Los Angeles, said last year that they chose their name because it was ‘holy sounding’ and did not realise it might cause offence.
