DOPING OFFICIAL REVEALS TIRADE FROM ANGRY JONES

PHIL JONES allegedly labelled a UEFA doping officer ‘a f****r’ during the rant that landed him a two-match European ban. The Manchester United defender was irate after being prevented from celebrating with his team-mates following the Europa League final victory over Ajax in May. Jones had been called into doping control and told he could not pose in a photograph to show support for Manchester terror victims. The unnamed doping officer divulged details of his row with Jones (right) yesterday. ‘He wanted to leave to celebrate with the team but I told him that he had to do the sampling first,’ he said. ‘He then told me I was a f****r doing this and that I had a f****r’s job and how I could be so f****** stupid to consider having such a f****** job. ‘I told him that this was the UEFA regulations and that my job was to do the control. He still continued to tell me I had a f****r’s job. ‘I asked him to calm down and stop insulting me. Then he said he didn’t want to talk to me any more.’ Jones appealed against the suspension and fine of €5,000, with UEFA last night confirming that no date had yet been set.
