Another Beeb luvvie at £4m firm you paid for
A CONTROVERSIAL ex-BBC boss has joined former colleagues at an underfire production company funded by taxpayers.
Danny Cohen is on the board of Bad Wolf – which took a £4million loan from the Welsh government and paid two female directors £1.4millon even though the firm is making a loss.
The BBC’s former director of television joined in March after his current employer, Access Entertainment, took a £5.2million stake in Bad Wolf.
The production company was valued at more than £20million even though it has recorded pre- tax losses of £2.8million.
Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner – both former BBC bosses who are credited with reviving Doctor Who – received a total of £1.4million from the firm.
Mr Cohen, 43, left his £327,000-a-year BBC role last year following his involvement in the socalled ‘luvvies letter’ to David Cameron over plans to reform the corporation.
A spokesman for Bad Wolf said: ‘Danny Cohen has not received any payment from Bad Wolf.’
