GUARD GRAPES

OUTDOOR-GROWN grapes are swelling rapidly. To make sure they ripen in our weak northern sunshine, trim away any foliage that might shade them too much. Blackbirds, starlings and other birds love to feed on black, rather than green, grapes, so protect your crop with netting. Greenhouse grapes are susceptible to powdery mildew. Help prevent it by regularly watering thee vines’ roots. Keep the humidity within the greenhouse e low and ensure that bunches are dry.
