Too-easyJet! Dark-haired man flies using blonde girl’s passport

- Daily Mail Reporter

A BROWN-HAIRED man boarded a flight to Germany using his blonde girlfriend’s passport.

Michael Randall says that he accidentally grabbed the wrong document while rushing to make an early-morning departure.

The 23-year-old technician managed to get through security checks at Gatwick and board an easyJet flight to Berlin despite looking nothing like his 34-year-old partner.

The mistake was discovered only after he arrived on the continent and confessed he had the wrong passport.

Mr Randall said: ‘I knew something was wrong was when I arrived in Berlin. I thought honesty was the best policy so I told security.’ After grilling Mr Randall for 90 minutes, immigration officials released him with a one-day travel pass.

Luckily, a colleague was heading to the same event later that day and was able to bring Mr Randall’s passport with him so he could return home.

Mr Randall and his girlfriend, Charlotte Bull, who live together in Staines, Surrey, have called on easyJet to launch a probe into the incident.

Mr Randall said: ‘It’s outrageous I even got that far.

‘EasyJet are meant to check the name against the boarding pass but they

obviously didn’t. It’s very worrying as I don’t even look like Charlotte.’

The couple had just returned from a trip to France before Mr Randall’s journey to Berlin.

Miss Bull told the Sunday People: ‘We mixed up the passports while unpacking, which was our fault.

‘[But] there’s been a massive error by the airline.’

She added: ‘It was a terrible breach of security. Even more so considering how scary current times are.’

An easyJet spokesman said the correct details were given online but boarding staff at the airport should have spotted the mix-up. He added: ‘We are investigating.’
