Brand brings out the love boat for his new bride
HIS love life hasn’t exactly been the smoothest... but it seems it’s now plain sailing for Russell Brand.
The comedian and former lothario, 42, has married the daughter of golf legend Bernard Gallacher in an intimate wedding that included sailing down the Thames on a steamboat.
Brand and Laura Gallacher, 30 – who had a daughter Mabel together in November – tied the knot at Remenham Church near their home in Henley, Oxfordshire, on Saturday.
Guests including Noel Gallagher, Jonathan Ross and David Baddiel then boarded the New Orleans-style steamer to take them to an Indianthemed reception. Brand spent £2,300 on the boat, according to The Sun.
A source said: ‘They wanted a very small, personal affair rather than a circus. It was a lovely occasion. Mabel was guest of honour.’
Brand and Miss Gallacher, the sister of TV host Kirsty, have been dating on and off for years, including before Brand’s first marriage to Katy Perry in 2010. Brand yesterday told listeners of his Radio X podcast: ‘I’m living a married life now... I’m domestic.’
