Teen dies in tent at music festival
A TEENAGE boy was found dead in his tent at Reading festival yesterday.
Police were called to the tent just before 2am, where the 17-year-old was pronounced dead. The music festival had finished a few hours earlier.
Thames Valley Police are investigating the death and said it is ‘currently being treated as unexplained’.
The police commander for Reading festival, Superintendent Rory Freeman, added: ‘Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the young man. There is no cause for concern for surrounding festival-goers. We will continue to provide support to the boy’s family at this difficult time.’
It comes after an 18-year-old was stabbed with a ‘sharp implement’ at the festival on Friday night.
Police said there had been a ‘scuffle’ between several men. The man has since been discharged from hospital.
