Twins taking the NHS to task for double standards
IT’S incredible that the NHS is giving out vouchers to encourage obese people to exercise (Mail). Why should they get these funds? The NHS is guilty of operating double standards by ending free prescriptions in some areas for people who suffer from coeliac disease, an autoimmune digestive condition. My twin sister and I have this condition and exercise regularly to keep ourselves fit because coeliacs are prone to osteoporosis. The NHS is bribing obese people to stay healthy — while coeliacs have their prescriptions stopped because they suffer from a disease through no fault of their own. ANNE BELL, Manchester.
