Don’t tax success
A GREAT chief executive makes a business successful in the same way a great general makes an army win.
The idea that 20 per cent of shareholders voting against the pay of the directors will lead to government action is ludicrous. If we want world-class businesses we need world-class leaders.
Perhaps the Prime Minister, who has never run a business, should focus on taxing overpaid footballers, who earn three times the annual salary of a surgeon in a week.
