Centovalli railway to Colmar

Day nine, and we’re heading for home, but there’s a wonderful twist. We’ve travelled from Basel, via Visp, to Colmar in Alsace. Colmar is literally like walking through the sets of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Sound of Music. This is time travel at its best, and, trust me, nothing compares to a hot chocolate at midnight, sitting opposite the Maison Pfister. Day ten – we’re heading for St Pancras, via Paris. Just enough time to plug in my phone, slowly sip a fine carafe, and book my next great rail adventure.
